It’s been awhile since the last update on our blog as we’ve been busy with transforming our hip and chic bistro for the one past year. Now that we’re back, do join us in the adventures of all the individual G4′ers who’ll share their experience with you on the Singapore Story.

The Night Festival is back! It’s a Saturday and Sunday evening thing, party till late! From Fri 10 Jul 2009 – Sat 11 Jul 2009, 7.30pm – 2am, go in for an outdoor extravaganza of theatrical performances with live music and dance, and experience delightful interactive light installations created in and around the hem of Bras Basah. Taking the centre stage this year, is Bersama Hijau, one of the Singapore acts, which consists of dance, percussion and vocals by 80 talented performers.
Best of all, ADMISSION IS FREE!

In view of The Singapore River Festival which will commerce from the 19-27 June, there will be free weekend river taxi ride onboard the Singapore River Festival Party Boat and weekend shuttle bus service from Orchard Road to Clarke Quay on the Singapore River Festival Bus, including numerous free-admission Festival events, are planned to make the Festival affordable and within reach to most festival-goers.

*Attention* – To all those guest that will be coming to G4 Station for accommodation on the 28th March. Please take note between 8.30pm-9.30pm we will have to switch off all the light, and if possible our air-con and computers will be off too (do not worry, you can switch it on if you feel warm or bored) Our deepest apology for any inconvenience cause, but we do hope that our guest will join us hand in hand during this event.
We have only one mother earth and imagine how much lifespan we can prolong her if the whole world cut electricity usage for just one hour. Although it is something small but let us do a part in saving our earth from global warming issue. G4 Station definitely support this idea and we hope others will think so too. Congratulations to my G4 Team and thank you Hostel World for the lovely credit to our name. We’re constantly improving and listening. When are you going to come over to Singapore to join us? 
We’ve been having numerous complains on hostel being noisy from time to time. Sometimes, it isn’t just houserules that make things work. Guests feedbacks are honestly important in all aspects. We have to offer no frills, undisturb rest for our backpackers; at least that’s the most basic requirement.
Because of our strategic and good location, we’ve been risking something. Being next to a roadside is not a good thing; Most of our guests have no complaints feedback to us the sleep was pretty decent though. We’ve collected most of the feedbacks and I’ve concluded that should we do double glazed windows it’ll probably take quite sometime for us to be able to afford such kind of luxury, so….
Earplugs! - Unless Necessary
Tadaa! That’ll keep most ground floor guests in place, though I do understand that most people don’t like things to be stucked in their ears when they sleep, but this is just for emergency use in case you’re really feeling irritated by any kind of noise outside (be it other lousy guests, music, road noise etc).
Right now at this very moment, we’re getting contractors to get another new door up to block the music that’s coming from Backyard Bistro after 10pm. House rules, it’s important.
**Update: We have two brand new doors to filter out the music from our Bistro’s live band and washing machine/ dryer noise on the 1st level. The doors has been effective in filtering out the noise coming from our bistro! My advice is not to take the ground floor beds unless necessary because the communal area is just right outside.
